Preparation for College and Career

Our high school program is a highly collaborative effort between students, faculty, and a dedicated advisor. Students begin working with an advisor in 9th grade and chart a personalized plan to prepare for college or a career upon graduation. Each student's path will be different and will likely include a combination of Advanced Placement (AP) courses and dual enrollment courses at a local college, as well as a variety of electives including robotics, money management, animation, art, engineering, and tools for college success. HCA's graduation requirements mirror those necessary to attend the nation's top colleges. The weekly schedule also includes chapel services led by our own praise band, as well as local and national speakers.

Our rigorous education and commitment to producing servant leaders set our graduates on a path to success, enabling them to earn more than double the average scholarship package to college, attend their first-choice colleges, and succeed in the workforce. Students are guided and supported through their journey of exploring college options, testing, creating resumes, and deciding where they can best continue their education and personal growth.
"If you could envision the type of person God intended you to be, you would rise up and never be the same again."

~ Sean Covey

Mission trips, youth conferences, a senior class trip to New York City, and our signature Senior Mentors program are some of the many ways we get our students prepared for and excited about leading efforts to positively impact our world. Our high school faculty and staff team is dedicated to nurturing the talents of each individual so that students graduate ready to become leaders who will carry out Harvester Christian Academy's mission of training minds to lead and hearts to serve.

100%

College Acceptance
Since our first commencement ceremony for the Class of 1998, the list of schools to which our graduates have been accepted includes more than 95 colleges and universities nationwide, and that list keeps growing every year. HCA now boasts a 100% college acceptance rate!

80%

Dual Enrollment for College Credit
More than 80% of HCA graduates have earned college credits, reducing both time and money invested in a college degree. HCA students have access to college courses in a variety of fields through our partner institutions, including West Georgia Technical College, Georgia Highlands College, and the College & Career Institute. Some students have earned enough credits to complete an associate degree while still attending high school.

$2.8m

College Advisement and Scholarships
To date, the Class of 2020 has earned more than $2.8 million in college scholarships. Our low advisor-to-student ratio has been very successful and has resulted in HCA students garnering nearly eight times more scholarship money than the state average. Upon starting the freshman year, each HCA student meets with his/her advisor to begin charting an academic path leading to the college or career of choice upon graduation.

92%

College Preparation
An impressive 92% of the Class of 2020 is eligible to receive Georgia's HOPE Scholarship. Along with personal guidance, students complete SAT and ACT preparation courses taught by experts on our campus. These efforts have helped HCA students to achieve the highest SAT and ACT scores in Douglas County, and to surpass state and national averages as well.
