K-4 and K-5 (P-1) INFORMATION
Harvester Christian Academy offers excellent
programs for both four-year-olds and five-year-olds. A strong foundation
is built for reading and math through phonics and number concepts. Although
letter sounds and combinations of those sounds is the goal at the K-4 level,
many of our students far exceed this goal and begin to read. Five-year-old
students read on a level well above national norms. Math is introduced
in K-4 through number concepts and by the end of the five-year kindergarten
program; students are well versed in addition, subtraction, counting, and
other necessary math skills. Instruction in the K-4, K-5 and Pre-1st programs
encompasses a mixture of fun activities, games, arts and crafts, and traditional
classroom instruction.
Most importantly, kindergarten instruction
for our four-year-old and five-year-old students begins with the proper
foundation: Jesus Christ, His Lordship and Majesty permeate all subject
areas and He is recognized as the true source of all knowledge. Whether
studying phonics, numbers, science, history or Bible, our students know
that “all things were created through Him and for Him” (Colossians
1:16b).

activities. Both programs provide excellent preparation for first grade. If
you have questions as to which program would best meet the needs of your
child, please feel free to call the school office at (770) 942-1583.
